"A & E Visit"

About: Good Hope Hospital

I took my daughter to A & E late on Saturday afternoon after receiving advice from our local walk in centre and GP badger service. We arrived, registered and walked through to the Major's Dept and told to take a seat. The waiting area was full (less than 10 seats) so we had to stand. We waited approx 1 hr and then we were called to a cubicle. Medical history taken by a Doctor, whilst a nurse took BP, temperature etc. We were lucky and no further medical attention was required and we could leave. Take paracetamol and ibuprofen. In honesty, we should not have been there but were directed there by the people answering the telephone at the walk in centre and GP badger service. These services could have helped and we do feel that we wasted the time of the A & E staff. We were treated well at Good Hope.

Dear Anonymous

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write in your experience at Good Hope Hospital in the A&E department.

I have forward your email to the Lead Nurse in A&E who I know will be thrilled. I have taken onboard your comments about the badger clinic staff and have spoken to the team leader who looks after the receptionists.

Best wishes to your daughter and a speedy recovery

Iona
