(as the patient),

I switched surgeries because when I got my diagnosis my old doctor said that's only because fibromyalgia has been popular for the last 5 years, and all the doctors there were not helpful.

I moved to this practice on recommendation from my sister, and it is the best decision I ever made, all the doctors are understanding of fibromyalgia and do not attribute every complaint I develop to fibro.

There is one in particular who I see regularly as he has an interest in muscular skeletal medicine, and he listens and we make decisions together about my care, I like continuity of care.

so thank you to Dr for being a great Dr and listening and working with me rather than just telling me this is going to happen or that is going to happen.

Hi ilimpsalot,

Its great to hear that you have found a practice that is understanding of your condition. Too often the simple care and attention that an understanding doctor shows to a patient is undervalued. Being aware of your condition and not questioning it is an important part of their support of your continuing care. For those doctors that do not treat fibromyalgia patients properly, there is far too much evidence out there now for them to maintain there outdated attitudes.

Hi Des, my pleasure, I love my practice and feel comfortable there will all the staff and Drs, as you rightly said so many Drs are not sympathetic to Fibromyalgia nor understand it properly, I consider myself very fortunate to have good drs!
