"Admitted for an infection"

About: Leicester General Hospital

I constantly hear of fears from politicians and the media about "our failing health service" . In a massive institution like the NHS there will be problems to solve but on the basis of my experience in Ward 10 at LGH widespread and wholesale disaster is complete nonsense. Why are the media not speaking up about excellent world class care like this? Very skilled and professional right the way through - medical, nursing and support staff. They also seem to be people with a real passion for doing a good job and who enjoy what they do. What more could you ask for?

Dear reviewer, Thank you for your honest review of your experience on Ward 10, comments like this do make a huge difference in boosting staff morale amongst the criticism the NHS often faces. I have passed this onto the Matron and Ward Sister for Ward 10, plus the Service Managers for Nephrology so they can share this with everyone. If you are interested in sharing your positive experience with a wider audience, why not send a letter to the Leicester Mercury Mailbox Letters page? I'm sure they will publish something for you! You can email mailbox@leicestermercury.co.uk. You can also say thank you to the team by nominating them for a Caring at its Best Award via our website www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/patients/nominate-a-member-of-our-staff-for-an-award/ Wishing you all the best, Laura Stannard Communications Officer Leicester's Hospitals
