"lovely facilities in children's a&e"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary

Wow to the nice space for children in the paeds a&e... thank you! Made a worrying time easier. Smooth trip to xray... nice. No one told us their name tho, which would have been nice. #hellomynameis Child recovering beautifully from break-thank you. The referral to fracture clinic seemed unnecessary in eyes of surgeon ... and us as the advice was the same (should you want to save resources).

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding your child’s experience in the Emergency Department. We would like to apologise that staff did not introduce themselves to you when delivering care. This is a very reasonable expectation and your feedback has been shared with the team who have been reminded of their duties in this regard. Thank you for your suggestion about need for follow-up in the Fracture Clinic. The process of asking patients to attend fracture clinic the following day is two-fold. Firstly, on some occasions temporary plasters are applied with a permanent plaster being applied the following day and secondly it gives an opportunity to ensure that any plaster or support is correctly positioned to ensure healing and recovery in the shortest possible time. We are pleased to note that on this occasion the plaster support provided was appropriate and your child is recovering well.
