"A&E Department & MAU February 2014"

About: Royal United Hospital

I was referred to the A&E department by my Doctor on Tuesday 18th February. My doctor had rung the hospital to advise I was on my way. I could not believe the speed at which I was taken into A&E, and the tests and checks I received. All the staff were extremely professional, and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, even for the lady who supplied the hot drinks and biscuits for my husband. Within minutes of arriving in the MAU the Ward Manager (apologies - that may not be the correct title) introduced himself, and explained everything to me. Fortunately it was nothing serious, but at all times I was kept informed as to what checks/tests I was to have, and why. They were also very prompt in giving me a diagnosis and discharging me. They are an incredible team.

We welcome your comments regarding your experience at the RUH as it helps us to identify problems and improve the quality of our service and care. Thank you for your comments about the Emergency Department and MAU. We are very pleased that your experience as a patient here at the RUH was a good one. We will forward on your comments to the ED and MAU staff whom I'm sure will be very grateful for your kind words; and we hope that you continue to recover quickly.
