In early January, I had a total knee replacement at the orthopaedic unit at High Wycombe Hospital. I was admitted just before 7: 30 am and by 3 pm I was in the ward.
I was discharged 3 days later and am now on a programme of physiotherapy. The operation had been preceded by pre-op assessment and a series of briefings by the hospital staff on the nature of the operation, what to expect, pain management and post operative care.
Throughout the whole process, the staff were friendly, considerate, knowledgeable, competent and reassuring. I feel grateful that we are supported by such an outstanding NHS Trust.
