My Grandmother had a fall, she is 86 and lives alone. She had the fall at home and a friend called 999. When she got to A&E she was given painkillers and an Xray. It showed she had fractured her clavicle. They put her in a sling gave her medication to talk home and sent her on her way with my uncle. When he got her in the car after some time of trying he then called and said what do we do now? I told him to go back and demand she is seen by a social worker. After being sent home the staff sent out a rapid respone team who are fantastic. They were shocked she was discharged with no care input in a and e. She ended up haing to sleep in the chair for the night as the rapid response team could not get a bed downstairs. She is now in hospital as she is not able to cope at home even with family and carers. If you feel your loved one needs help tell them they wont do it on their own back
