"Lack of staff and equipment"

About: Northwick Park Hospital

My relative was transferred from the Royal Brompton to Northwick Park on a Friday. As a complex patient with complex needs and reduced mobility and having been on a air matress for the last 3 weeks at the Royal Bromptom I was surprised to be met with we "have no stock" and this applied to mattress and raised toilet seat. My relative has had to stand to pass water as unable to sit and I had to bring to the nurses attention the red sacral area site of previous pressure sore. The bathroom was dirty. The staff were rushed off their feet polite and stretched. She has to wear a pad at night incase they don't come as her medication of diuretics means she has limited control. They leave her for 20 minutes on a toilet she now refused to sit so is not left waiting. She requires assistance to walk due to giddiness and is missing the Brompton dreadfully. She is happy to pay for private and is too sick to move to the St Marks part of the hospital. The nurses/healthcare assistants given up their break time to get her a newspaper...and top up her phone..
