"Breast cancer - treatment great"

About: Greater Manchester Tameside General Hospital / Oncology

(as a staff member),

This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public who asked not to have their name published. They said…

Breast cancer diagnosed 2 years ago. Tame Valley GP surgery referred her within 2 days to hospital. Radical mastectomy and lymphatic nodules removed less than 2 weeks after first visit to Mr Ellenbogen's clinic.

Now has 6 monthly clinic appointments. Finds all staff extremely helpful and kind. She can phone McMillan nurses any time, which is reassuring.

Thank you for sharing these positive comments, We have passed these comments onto Mr Ellenbogen and the Macmillan breast care nurses, which I am sure will give them such a moral boost to know all their hard work and good service they provide for the Trust is working.

Thank you again.

Kind regards

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing
