"St Chads blood clinic should be open longer"

About: Community Health Services / Phlebotomy

(as a service user),

Four days on the run went for blood tests, first day told too late, it was 12’o’clock, not supposed to stop til 12-3pm as on the door.

Then following two days too many people waiting. Come back, went again on Friday 10: 50am. Told as they already had 100 people to come back Monday.

If they cannot cope, why not open longer or have more staff, especially as local hospital no longer does them either. This is totally unacceptable.

Dear Brown460

Thank you for your posting to the Patient Opinion web site. We are sorry to hear about your experience at our Phlebotomy clinic.

Recent changes mean that people no longer have the option of going to the hospital any more for this particular service. This has resulted in an increase on the demand on our service at the St Chad’s Centre. The situation is being carefully monitored with a view to future service planning.

If you would like to discuss the matter further I can be contacted on 0151 244 3188.
