This story has been posted by Healthwatch Tameside on behalf of a member of the public who asked not to have their name published. They said…
Their premature baby aged one week was admitted to Ward 27 with neonatal jaundice, in a side ward. No staff came to see mother or baby for over 24 hours. No treatment offered and they were left on their own in the room. Eventually light therapy administered to the baby. The night staff were very kind, but day staff didn't seem to know why they were there. The young mother and her family were extremely anxious throughout their stay.
