About: Royal Oldham Hospital

My husband had a referral to urology over 18 months ago, he was seen once and told there was nothing wrong despit his pain. He asked his GP for a further referral back to urology so that his symptoms could be looked at in depth. His appointment has been cancelled 6 times!!! Thats over a year of waiting to see a consultant to even explain his symptoms let alone under go any tests. This week he had received 2 letters on the same day, the first cancelled the appointment he was due to have and the second cancelling the appointment rearranged in the first letter. We have tried to call but it is useless. He should be referred to elsewhere if they dont have the capacity. I am sure this breaks all waiting list policies and i intend to write a formal complaint. If there is a serious problem with my husband I will be holding this urology department and its staff medically negligent.

We have forwarded your comments to the department manager, they would like you to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0161 604 5897, and give your details (patients name) and confirm the amount of time your husband has been cancelled, please also provide the number you have been ringing.
