I was admitted to the QMC in Nottingham following an examination after being referred the same day. This was on the 22nd of October when my neck had swelled to such an extent that I was virtually unable to move my head. My neck only started to swell from the morning of the 22nd.
I was admitted to ward 24, where I was given intravenous antibiotics and assessed on a daily basis. After 5 days the swelling had gone down considerably and I was allowed to go home but was signed off from work for 2 weeks, with a hospital appointment set up for the 10th Novemeber for a review of my condition.
The treatment I received in hospital was fine, with good care and generally polite staff. The TV and radio provision at the bedside was not great, with fairly frequent technical problems.
