"Visit to Emergency Department"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

I recently visited the Emergency Department at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. I had recently contracted some sort of STD, of which I needed emergency medical treatment, as I was in substantial pain, and had work commitments which meant I was unavailable for the coming few weeks. After going though all normal procedures i was turned away due to a hospital, not giving any medical treatment, or advice. All i was told was " STD tests are not our job, this is down to our STD Clinic's. I find this disgraceful, as I the tax-payer, of what 20% of my wage, is used as NHS funding, was not able to acquire the medical advice needed. So my problem will now remain untill i can seek medical advice from the Clinic. Thank you so much for your wonderful service. Regards Jordan Crowson

Dear Mr Crowson, We are sorry to learn that you experienced difficulties when trying to access treatment via the Emergency Department. I have now spoken with the Emergency Department who have said they will be investigating the comments you have made, and would be happy to contact you directly with the findings of their investigation. Please could I ask you to contact the PALS office on 01202 704886 with your details if you would like them to reply to you. Regards Sue Mellor Head of Patient Engagement
