I am 47 years old and two years ago 29th February 2012 I had a total hip replacement on my left and on 1st May 2012 the right was replaced. The care I received before both operations, during my hospital stays and follow up recovery was superb. I returned to work full time in September 2012 as the Foundation Stage Manager (two Nursery classes and two Reception classes) and Reception class teacher in a Milton Keynes school. I started cycling to school again in April 2013, in May 2013 I went on a week long mountain bike holiday to the Pyrenees. Yesterday I celebrated the second anniversary of my first operation by cycling 45km on my mountain bike. Working in education I am aware that feedback is usually only given when people are unhappy, the vast majority of people are pleased but unfortunately pleased people don't share their experiences very often. If it wasn't for the NHS and the orthopaedic team in Milton Keynes led by my wonderful surgeon I would be either still on crutches or possibly wheel chair bound by now, unable to run my home and look after my three children, have an active leisure life or be able to work all of which make my life what it is. So, a very deep and heartfelt thank you to the NHS and Milton Keynes hospital. My family and I have our lives back and I look forward to my future. Yours sincerely, Ingrid Baggaley
