"My wife"

About: Royal Shrewsbury Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

Walking the dogs and felt something go in the back of her knee luckily she was only a few yards from the house, took her to A@E in Shrewsbury I got her a wheelchair and she joined the queue I parked car and when I got back she was sat on a normal chair ... A nurse had come along and moved her out of the wheelchair telling her to put her leg on the bench if she needed to, the wheelchair was NOT needed for anyone else as it was by the door when I came in, she was then put back into the wheelchair to go and get examined, the doctor never asked her if she was in pain, did not do a thorough examination of the knee did not offer her any advice on aftercare to alleviate the pain and sent her out with 2 crutches.

Dear Baz69 Now, unfortunately the NHS Choices and Patient Opinion websites do not share your contact details with us so I cannot contact you direct. So, I would encourage you to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service to share your experience so that we can get a better understanding of what else we can do to make your experience a more positive one. In particular, I hope that your wife is recovering - but if not then you may wish to consider visiting your GP for further investigation. Our Patient Advice and Liaison Service is located by the ward entrance at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, or you can contact them by phone via hospital switchboard on 01743 261000 or by email at pals@sath.nhs.uk Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
