"Labour was nearly opposite of what I wanted"

After arriving into the birth centre & shortly after going in to active labour I was assessed by a midwife who unsympathetically told me I would have to go to labour ward as baby's heart rate was dropping. As we didn't want to go this was checked & confirmed by a senior midwife. Luckily my community midwife arrived at that time as they were actually both measuring my heartbeat & the baby was fine. Thankfully they were asked to make a quick exit & I was left in her capable hands. The stay in the postnatal unit was not great either. As baby was quite quiet a curtain was pulled round me & we were pretty much left as the louder mums & babies got the attention. As a first time mum I needed more support & checks that were not given. This is not because they were too busy as there was only 3 of us in a 6 bay room & 1 lady in labour. Trying to leave the postnatal ward was equally as hard. As the midwives were quiet they were laughing and joking & having a lovely time whilst I was left. Then once my partner arrived to pick me up (8am) we were not released till 3pm &'rarely visited by them. Despite needing support & asking for it I felt it was not given.
