Husband had acute Stroke Christmas Eve. Clot busting drug administered but caused a bleed. Prognosis not good. I cannot fault the care, attention and service received. One week in the Heydon Ward and when stable moved to the Gunthorpe Ward. After 2 weeks hospitalisation returned home with the best Early Supported Discharge Team. They attended on a daily basis giving walks and various tests to help recovery. At all times they kept us informed on information regarding Strokes and answered all questions as best they could. If they couldn't, they soon found out from other sources. They were courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. We cannot fault the care from all staff at the hospital and the "team" who helped recovery for a solid 8 weeks. We are just grateful that, if we had to have a stroke, we are glad it was within the catchment area of the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital. With grateful thanks to all concerned. Brilliant effort from everyone.
