"My first real hospital experience."

About: Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital

I visited the Rotherwick Foundation Cardiac Unit on 26/02/2014 for an Angiogram. This was my first visit to a hospital for any form of treatment and at 63 I was just a little nervous. I had nothing at all to worry about and was treated with the utmost courtesy and respect, every thing was fully explained and the nursing staff looking after me headed up by Sue and Anya were helpful friendly and very professional. Anya showed a real passion for the work and at one point whilst describing a new 3D exploratory system made not only the hair on my arms stand up but her own as well. A truly positive visit in these times of NHS bashing. I now actually look forward to my Stent fitting at the same site.

Thank you for comments on NHS Choices. It is always good to get positive feedback from patients on the quality of care and treatment the patients receive. I will ensure that the staff involved in your care receive your kind words, who I’m sure, will be greatly encouraged by your positive remarks. Mary Edwards Chief Executive Officer
