"Walnut Ward"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital

I was admitted on 17th February with severe asthma, I was looked after and cared for by everyone, I can only praise them all. The food was excellent, and plenty of hot drinks on offer. Came home at 9pm on 24th February, the only complaint I have is that I had to wait about 5 hours for the prescription from the pharmacy.

We are very grateful for your feedback.

I am sorry to here that you had to wait five hours fro discharge. We do try to inform our patients that although the Doctor has told you, you are medically fit to go home on a Dr's round, he does not tell you that there is some administrative work to be conducted first. This will only take place once the Doctors round are complete.

Once the Dr's are free to complete your GP's letter and your prescription is signed off will this be released to trhe Pharmacists who will process and drugs and get tham back to you on the ward.

We hope to turn all drugs around within one hour, and once the drugs have been returned to the ward a nurse will complete the final checks of your paperwork, drugs and te discharge plan before you cna be released from the ward. Although this is a lengthy process, we want to ensure that you are safe to retyrn home with teh necessart drugs that you require.
