"I was appalled"

About: Lister Hospital

I gave birth to my 2nd son at lister hospital when going into labour 5 weeks early, i was left alone for a few hours whilst in the 1st stage of labour considering my situation i felt it was not ideal, the midwife i had during birth would not listen to me in any sense i said i wanted 2 push she said no, and kept hounding at me to have morphine which i did not want, i later agreed cause she hounded so much but by the time she was out the room all of 2mins i was pushing, again she said no, i then admit i shouted at her saying im going to push she then realised the baby's head was there, i never had the morphine, not to mention they missed out a diagnosis on all 4 on my scans, i will say i will never ever have another baby at this hospital again or any scans.

We're really sorry that your experience of the Lister's maternity service was not a good one. We know that the senior midwifery team would welcome a chance to talk with you if you've not made a complaint already. If you would like to speak with them, then we can arrange this simply by emailing us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net - we hope you give us that chance.
