"The surgeons deserve medals"

About: National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery - Queen Square / Neurosurgery Watford General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I experienced the most professional and caring hospital experience anyone could possibly imagine right from the moment I entered the doors at Lady Ann Allerton Ward. I am still in the ward 16 days later and feel the only person who could have been kinder and more caring is my mum. The surgeons deserve medals.

My operation was an emergency so took place in the very small hours of Sunday morning. All the stops were pulled out and I am extremely grateful. The nurses are so, so caring and look after your every need. Obviously, times arise when other patient's needs are greater than my own so you do not always get instant service - unless the situation demands it.

I will not hear a bad word said about any staff I have met in this ward. Plenty of world class consultants on hand to cover every specialist need.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment.

I am of course very sorry to hear you are unwell and I hope you make a speedy recovery.

Whilst we are delighted to hear about the excellent care you are receiving, it appears that you might have reviewed the wrong hospital - we do not have a Lady Anne Allerton ward at Watford Hospital.

However, I do know there is a ward of that name at The National Hospital for Neurology, which forms part of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will be able to find their details on Patient Opinion.

Once again, I hope you make a swift recovery.

Please do not hesiate to contact me if I can be of help. My email is antony.tiernan@whht.nhs.uk or you can call 01923 436 229. Alternatively, you can tweet me: @AntonyTiernan.
