"Doctors and their lack of knowledge"

I had surgery on the Bowel on Monday 17th February at the Royal Liverpool...The surgery went well but on arrival at the ward i asked for pain relief as i was in agony...I waited 5 hours for a Dr to come and see me. He did not speak to me at all and did not give me any pain relief for a further 2 hours as he did not know what to prescribe.I thank God for the nurse on duty...he knew the extent of my pain and what I needed in the mean while I was forced to call my home and wake my husband and ask him to spell the name of the medication I was on and what dose because I was out of my mind in pain and could not talk...I felt demeaned the Dr concerned did not even have the guts to apologise for the mix up.I felt so let down and if the nurse on duty had not known what to do I would not have been given anything to ease my pain which by time I recieved the pain medication was unbearable I would have passed out with the agony...It wasnt all bad because I found the nurses to be kind and compasonate and very very good at what they do...So thank you all the Nurses you truely are the real heros of the wards.
