My daughter is studying abroad in London this semester. She will be there 4.5 months in total. She came to your A&E today with a fever, chills and extremely sore and swollen throat and glands. After an hour of waiting she was told she could not be seen. That you "don't really do nose and throat". Are you not a hospital?? She was sent away and told to go to a drug store to buy throat spray for the pain but she couldn't be seen or get any prescription medication. She has health insurance through her study abroad program and had a credit card to pay for any services that she needed. How do you turn away a sick student who will be living in your country for months and is capable of paying for any services needed? Here in the United States we never turn away anyone. Whether they are citizens or not, whether they can pay or not. As I said, I am sickened by this incident and can't wait for my daughter to come home.
