"Satisfactory experience"

About: St Helier Hospital

I was recently a patient on B4. I was treated with curtesy and respect at all times. The ward was clean, in fact there was cleaning being done whilst I was there. My only critism is that the unit could do with being redecorated, there was a lot of chipped and peeling walls and paintwork. The other point I would raise was that after my procedure and back on the ward I didn't have access to a call button for the nurses. I was very thirsty and needed more to drink but had to wait for a nurse to come into the ward to get one.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree some of our wards could do with being refreshed which we hope to carry out over the next few months. We shall look into easy access call buttons being made available on B4. We agree that this is important. Dr James Marsh, Joint Medical Director, Epsom & St Helier NHS Trust
