"Just anothe run of the mill NHS hospital"

About: Leighton Hospital

Appears clean and well run. Open space at outpatients so your not cramped with sick people, until you then get taken through to the secondary waiting area, which is dirty, cramped and has far too many people in it, without adequate seating for the volume of people, 2 receptions opposite each other which block the narrow passageway through to the seating area. Had to stand as not enough seats despite being disabled either phlebotomy needs to be moved or the consulting rooms do! too many different things going on in too small an area. - stressful, and well past its use by date Staff were very nice though, but appeared overworked

Thank you for posting your comments on NHS Choices. It is good to know that staff are appreciated for the way they carry out their work in such a challenging environment. We are currently undertaking a full review of outpatients which includes how rooms are utilised and this shoud result in a better service. In the meantime, I will remind staff that they can advise patients to wait in the main outpatient hall after booking into clinic to avoid overcrowding in the secondary waiting area.
