"Chorley low vision clinic"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a carer),

I took my nan to the low vision clinic today, and was very pleased with our experience. I work for the NHS myself so wanted to explain what was so positive.

The optometrist we saw (Derek McPhie) was kind, clearly competent, and really took the time to listen and to ensure my nan understood everything; it felt as though nothing was too much trouble.

My nan has been very depressed about her macular degeneration but came away feeling better about her condition and I came away wishing every member of staff could interact with patients the way Mr McPhie does.

Thanks for your comments. Hearing about positive experiences really motivates our staff, and helps us identify where we’re getting things right so we can share good practice across all of our services.
