"Ward L28"

About: Leeds General Infirmary

Well what can I say. Had to be on ward L28 for 7am. Was checked in straight away and told was first on theatre list which was good but also told there wasnt a bed as yet on the ward. Then nurse told me someone else was going to theatre as they had found a bed for them. After a further 4 and half hours still no news as to whether a bed was free for me and got told couldn't get through to bed clerk. Another two hours and after more asking by my husband was told a bed was now available but now need to wait for slot on theatre list. A couple of hours pass again and again we are having to check what is happening to be told yet again they haven't heard anything. Enough was enough so at just before 4pm my husband went to see them again and asked for something sorting and for them to tell us not us chase them. Sister then came and said come on there ready for u. No explanation or apology for the long wait. The service we received was disgusting and go behold my notes just left in an office whereby everyone could have looked at them as door not locked or anything and the notes r supposed to be confidential. This ward needs to learn how to keep patients informed instead of sitting them away from everyone else and not keeping them informed of progress or letting know there had been a change in staff. Very poor customer service and was not pleased at all. All I can say is that the ward I ended up on was great and the staff just couldn't do enough for u.
