"Sympathetic, kind and informative"

About: James Paget University Hospital

I was pregnant and discovered I had had a missed miscarriage at around 9 weeks during a scan. The sonographer we had to perform the first scan was just brilliant, totally understanding and sympathetic. Obviously it wasn’t good news, and it was upsetting, but she talked it all through with my husband and I, and it really helped for us to come to terms with it. We then had a second scan with a different sonographer who again was brilliant and informative who passed us over to a Nurse to discuss options. She too was sympathetic, understanding, and gave us all the choices and explained the pros and cons for each option. We then unfortunately several weeks later ended up in A&E this weekend due to complications. Again (and sorry for sounding like a broken record!) we were dealt with extremely swiftly and efficiently, and every person we dealt with was kind and caring and we got all the answers we needed. After a final scan today, with the lady who performed the first scan, again she was amazing, very understand, very kind and caring, and we have left with no questions, all our queries fully answered and a sense that should we be unfortunate to have issues again in the future, we know we would be very much looked after. I don’t have many dealings with the hospital (thankfully) but after the recent events, I just had to write to someone to let you know there how wonderful I think the hospital is. I only wish I had taken down names so I could thank people personally. This would have been a lot harder to deal with it if it wasn’t for staff at the hospital.
