"my mother is in this hospital ..."

About: Fairfield General Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

my mother is in this hospital at the moment and overall we have not had a problem except with visiting times. the visiting times for the ward she is on are 2.30pm till 4pm and 7pm till 8pm, i am a mother of two small boys that are worried about there nan but with silly visiting times like this there is no way of me taking them as they are at school for the first visit and in bed for the second, i have resorted to taking them out of school just to visit her but this shouldn't have to happen. my mother enjoys seeing her grandchildren and i feel that there visits are helping her recovery.

What could be improved

BETTER visiting times

We're sorry to hear of your inconvenience.

Our published visitor times, which are included in our visitors policy and circulated to all wards are:

o Afternoon 3pm – 4pm

o Evening 6:30pm – 8pm

We do have restrictions on visiting with children, but we always encourage people to discuss issues with the ward manager.

All this information is on our guide for visitors at: http://www.pat.nhs.uk/PublicDefault.aspx?tabindex=2&tabid=484

If you let us know which ward this this was then we can look into it for you.

You can contact us via Fairfield's Patient Advice Service - you can call them on 0161 778 2455 or email enquiries@pat.nhs.uk
