"No specialist ever came"

About: Croydon University Hospital

I was admitted to the AMU having been taken to A & E by ambulance. It was decided that I probably had a neurological condition which required the opinion of a specialist consultant. Despite waiting in the ward for a further 2 days no consultant ever came. I was released without seeing any specialist and left to consult with professionals through our private insurance. I have since been diagnosed, privately, with a hemorrhage in the brain.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Your comments have been passed to senior doctors and staff at the Trust; they are very concerned by your posting and want to make sure that you are able to access the full range of care to treat your condition and support you while you are unwell. We would also like to look into your treatment while you were with us to understand specifically any changes we need to make to ensure that patients with similar conditions are not missed in the future. If you would like to contact our PALS team on 020 8401 3210 or at talktous@croydonhealth.nhs.uk we will be able to put you in touch with a senior clinician from the team that treated you to discuss your experience as well as giving us the opportunity to investigate your care in more detail.
