"The Doctors were very understanding ..."

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

(as a relative),

What I liked

The Doctors were very understanding and helpful when they were there.

What could be improved

Some of the nursing staff could have been more friendly to the patients they appeared to be too busy to speak to patients but had enough time to chat to each other about trivia. Patients did not get attention quickly enough when ringing for a nurse. Too much time spent by nurses serving meals instead of tending to patients needs. A patient who has diarrhoea cannot wait until the nurses have stopped serving meals to be put on the commode when they are unable to get to the toilet themselves.

Anything else?

In my opinion it is a waste of nurses time to be serving meals when domestic staff should be employed to do that and maybe nurses would be able to feed patients who are unable to do so.
