About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

My son had fit and was taken to the A&E by the ambulance around 5am. The ambulance crew were great and gave him pain killer as a first aid as his temperature was over 40•c. A&E staff did their best to bring him stable and was transferred to the Acorn children ward around 4pm. Nurse on duty introduced herself and checked the temperature which was 39•C. She told mum that she was going to bring paracetamol to calm the temperature down which she never turned up. The nurse who was suppose to take over the shift at 8pm didn't arrive till 10.30pm. We raised the issue with her , no apology was given and had the gust to challenge the mum why she didn't do a follow up and collect the medicine herself instead of waiting for the nurse. The poor kid was there for almost 18hrs with temperature above 36•C, no nurse attended to him again, no blood pressure or temperature was monitored till the doctor came and signed him off. If I have the choice, I will never use Whipps cross again as I have been there with a family member for more than 6 times and never had a good service.
