my daughter was admitted on 6/2/14 with ??seizures I stated the episodes were more like faints - neuro doc came to see her for 10 minutes diagnosed as epileptic and started her on strong anit epileptic medication !! Dr was about to start her on dose suitable for being 60kg >> my daughter is 42kg !!!!!! which I quickly pointed out ! No EEG has taken place ( we are awaiting appointment for one at RVI) I don't feel we were listened to with regards to symptoms and now my daughter has a label of epilepsy ! My daughter spent 5 nights at the hospital. Far too quick to diagnose and medicate without all facts ! We will be challenging decision at out patients appointment as soon as this is arranged . The ward staff on the other hand were lovely and very supportive towards my daughter who was very upset at her "diagnosis"
"took quick to stick on medication"
