"Hospital service was second to none"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

Our mother was admitted to the hospital on December 5th after suffering a stroke. Initially being sent to Heydon Ward for assessment and then to Gunthorpe Ward. After nearly seven weeks she was diagnosed with pneumonia from which she was not going to survive and finally passed away on January 25th. On behalf of myself and my sister we would like to thank all staff concerned for making her time as comfortable as possible. When it became clear she was not going to survive, the staff made her as comfortable as possible and moved her to her own room. Staff allowed us to visit and stay at any time of the day or night as well as keeping us supplied with cups of tea. Every member of the NHS from the ambulance staff, A&E and ward staff deserves our heartfelt thanks. They should all be proud to work for a great institution that treated us with the utmost dignity and compassion at all times.

Thank you for commenting on your experience at a difficult time. We are sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother and will pass on your feedback to the ward sisters for Heydon and Gunthorpe wards.
