I was taken to Derriford A&E following a fall which resulted in a badly broken collarbone. Having arrived around 18:15 on a Thursday evening I was taken for an x-ray relatively quickly and kept well informed by doctors and nurses as my condition/treatment was assessed. After roughly 3 hours in A&E I was taken to Shaugh Ward for the night and then at 09:15 the following morning I underwent an operation to mend my collarbone with a titanium plate. I was incredibly pleased with how quickly I was allocated an operation and with the level of care I received; staff in the ambulance, A&E and on the ward were all incredibly friendly and supportive throughout my stay. From my experience I would highly recommend these departments/wards for their care, support and level of cleanliness.
"Excellent fracture care in A&E and on Shaugh Ward"
