"my 90 yr old father was admitted ..."

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

my 90 yr old father was admitted on a friday following a fall - which xrays showed clear. as it was a bank holiday weekend they woul dnot discharge him until he had seena consultant on tuesday - during this time he was placed in a mixed ward - literally make & females next to each other - dressed in hospital gowns despite PJs being brought in from day 1. Not understanding despite the family saying, he was blind. Leaving food & drinnks for my father to sort himself out (he couldnt reach the table). on day 3, he subsquently fell out of ben & fractures his lower spine. But being of that humble generation, did not wan to make a fuss.

Anything else?

think i've said it all. in the end, he discharged himself with our help, as he was being dehydrated & delirious.
