I have spent over a week leaving answer phone messages and trying to call through with regards to ongoing problems following a wisdom tooth extraction on 5th December. I have been in unimaginable pain since that extraction, the site was infected, the muscles on that side of my face are still in spasm and my jaw joint has been damaged. I understand there is a risk with surgery but i have recieved appalling after care and the problems are still unresolved. This has completely changed the quality of my life - headaches, earaches and pain that has left me unable to get out of bed let alone work/drive or have any sort of life for 2 1/2 months. I wish i had been made more aware of the consequences of wisdom tooth removal and that they had looked into my complicated extraction more carefully. I am still waiting to hear back from the department as I am trying to get an appointment urgently. I am now on no painkillers, no medication and I'm at my wits end now. I just don't understand why the damage that has been caused is not being treated more seriously and apart from anything it is ridiculous and frustrating not to be able to even get through to the department. Even the hospital switchboard tried calling for 15 minutes today - still no response.
"Horrendous, life-altering experience still..."
