"Car parking is a farce!"

About: Samuel Johnson Community Hospital

Visited this nice hospital with my daughter who had hurt her arm the care was great and have no negative feedback to give. However the car parking system is a joke!on the 3rd of November 2014 I arrived at 11:01 bought a ticket for 2 1/2 hours at £2:50 fine I thought little steep but ok, doesn't pay to be ill in this country by the way does it? Left the hospital at 12:25 so no problem with parking! A week later I get a fine through the door with my car photographed in and out and a £70 fine. I bought a ticket and put my 3 numbers of my registration as I have done for as long as I can remember in lichfield parking areas. I used the hospital on the 1st of February also same money less time no parking ticket! My point is, everyone please ensure if you use these types of car parks you keep the ticket for a good 2 weeks and don't throw it away! The good news is I kept mine and have proof I paid for my visit, the bad news is I have to spend my time and effort doing something I shouldn't have to do writing a letter of dispute. Please sort out this system it's spoiling the hospital.

Thank you for your comments regarding the Minor Injuries Unit at Samuel Johnson Community Hospital. We are pleased that your daughter received the quality of care that met with your expectations. We shall share these with the staff that were involved with your daughters care. However, we are sorry that you found the car parking system at Samuel Johnson Community Hospital which uses a different system to the main car parks in Lichfield City centre. We will pass your feedback on to our Facilities department. We advise all of our patients and visitors who have received a parking charge notice and do not feel it is justified to submit an appeal via www.parkingeye.co.uk/appeal or call 0844 247 2982 so that the circumstances can be investigated further. If following this process you are still unsatisfied please contact the Trust’s Facilities department on 01283 511511 extension 5359 so that we can try and resolve the issue.
