"Hip Replacment Ward 9"

About: Leighton Hospital

Just back from Leighton after a hip replacement I was invited to " Joint School" to see where Ward 9 is , to meet some of the people who would be helping me , to meet other people who were having similar ops and to learn about crutches and things .. This short session helped greatly to dispel my fear - Ward 9 wasn't the unknown when I went in On the morning pf my Op , I went in at 7am ,everybody , and I mean everybody , introduced themselves by telling me their name and called me by my name - I felt at home and it was all as light hearted and jocular as a serious process can be . Nothing was too much trouble - some requests were refused but for medical reasons They work as a team for the good of the patient Fantsic

Thank you for your response following your recent experience on Ward 9 when you have had a joint replacement. It is good to hear that you feel that the Joint School was of benefit to yourself and helped to reassure you about your forthcoming operation and ensure that you were well prepared having had all of the information at the Joint School and the opportunity to meet other patients. It is lovely to hear that you thought the whole team on Ward 9 were fantastic. Your lovely comments will be shared with the staff on Ward 9. Please accept our best wishes for your continued recovery.
