"Thank you Medway Maritime!"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital

My 97year old mother fell at home and broke her hip on Jan 21st. She picked a very busy day in A&E but every professional we met treated her with dignity and kindness and could not have been more helpful! The surgical staff were particularly caring, explaining the procedure and answering all her questions. The staff of Arethusa ward were all outstanding in the care, interest, and concern they showed my mother. They always had time for a word with her however busy they were. In fact it is true to say that Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay in Arethusa and we are particularly grateful for the time staff gave to answer our concerns too! Our sincere thanks to the orthopaedic department and Arethusa ward!

Thank you for providing us with an overview of your mother’s recent patient experience during an emergency admission for a fractured hip. It is always good to receive feedback on positive outcomes, particularly highlighting areas of good practice as it enables us to share these across the Trust to make improvements for all patients’. I have shared your comments with the heads of departments to enable them to share your comments with their teams. I hope that your mother is continuing to progress well and wish her a good recovery.
