Firstly, on line, I could find no opening times for the minor injuries unit but only live round the corner so one morning when I sliced my foot on a plate I went there, it was about 8am. The door was open, people were inside and the sign said waiting time approximately 30 minutes. I assumed the unit was open. I spoke to a lady on the reception desk asking if someone could look at my foot and was spoken to very rudely. She said to me 'sit there and wait or go elsewhere' in those exact words. As I turned to leave she said 'I take it you're going elsewhere'. I am appalled at by being spoken to in this manner, a simple 'I'm afraid we don't open until 9' would have been sufficient. She also looked at my son, 14 year old, who had helped me get to the unit as though he was something she had scraped off her shoe. I will be reporting this person to PALS because to be spoken like that is totally unacceptable. I too work in a hospital and would not dream of speaking to anyone like that. Needless to say Rotherham A&E were fantastic in stitching me up :)
