What could be improved
cleanliness when i was admitted there were dirty pants in my locker. no bags to put rubbish in so if you were immobile after an op and wiped your nose or coughed etc the tisusue would be left on your table where you ate your dinner. notes were written on paper towels from the toilets by nurses. patient care hospital notes lost from op and as result not once had drs round to express how i felt. nurses wouldn't listen and acted by the text book and did not treat you as an individual. drug rounds controlled drugs only once given by two nurses usually only 1 as short staffed. left in pain for long time. other elderly patients in ward treated disrespectfully nurses too busy to answer buzzer for her and so accident in bed which embarrassed her. nurses response " I need a fag after that" patient left severely upset. found out weeks later incorrect treatment given me as my notes were missing. i find this dangerous to treat a patient without any notes as to their condition or history. follow up appointments again lost referral forms and no notes many many times. no confidence in the hospital at all.
Anything else?
been a visitor recently and seen elderly immobile patients with no buzzer near them and when i gave it to them they were too frightened to use it. one lady was crying as nurse very abrubt with her when she did ask to go to the toilet. witnessed nursing staff giving out wrong medication as overheard patient informing them of her correct tablets. and the patient i was visiting did not receive one of her tablets at all discovered by nurse the next day.
