"Lack of information from docs after operation"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

I received my appointment for a pre-op exam (E.N.T) date through the post. On this date I attended & told the doc I’d received no info on what to do, bring etc on the day of my op. He informed me this would be sent through the post. The day before no info, so had to ring & have it e-mailed. The next morning, rang ward C24, said didn't if bed was available but come in anyway, arriving at 6.30 am. Told no bed available yet. Sat in waiting room for 3hours & decided to ask what was happening. Told I shouldn't of been there so early, as mine wasn't scheduled till the afternoon. The ward nurses were excellent. However, the information from the doc's about the pain, what to expect (e.g. bleeding, numbness) etc was lacking, as there is a 3 week period from release to my next out-patients appointment.
