"The care on Swift Ward"

About: Epsom Hospital

I returned to the UK over a year ago having lived in France for over 10 years. After leaving the French health care system which is supposedly second to none, It was with some trepidation that I found i needed an operation that was to be carried out in Epsom General Hospital. Over the years I had been living in France it seemed the NHS had faced much criticism and not so good media attention this added to my concerns about my pending operation and general health. I need not have been worried at all, I can honestly say I have had the best treatment I could possibly receive, everyone from my own GP right through the health care system to the wonderful people in Epsom general hospital who cared for me during my time there. The receptionists, secretaries and the pre operative centre. All the staff at Epsom Hospital who made the lead up to this journey smooth and eased my fears. Thank you all so much. Thank you to the wonderful staff on Swift ward, the nurse who held my hand while I was put to sleep and was there for me when I returned to the ward after my op. The nurse, doctor and the night staff on Swift ward to everybody who's patience, kindness and care carried a very nervous patient through. My very special thanks go to the gynaecologist who is truly an amazing , I feel honoured to have had you operate on me, I'm still recovering from my op that I had on Monday but I am confident I will soon be up and about again. Thank you so much for the care you have given me, your kind words, friendliness and encouragement and also to your team of anaesthetists and theatre staff, thank you all so very much.

Thank you for such fantastic feedback and we are delighted you once again have faith in the NHS which so often receives a bad press. Your kind words will be passed on to the staff who cared for you. James Marsh Joint Medical Director
