At my local surgery they have had the cheek to introduce a PREMIUM RATE 0844 number for patients to contact or make appointments. I find this totally unacceptable. Why should I pay an extortionate rate on my phone to do this? They say it is to improve the service. HOW? I work for a major company and the contact is a geographical land line straight through to a switchboard-no problem. The quicker someone puts an end to this practice the better. Lets have some fairness.
