"Great haemotology department!"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill)

I'm more than a decade out of a bone marrow transplant and very much in remission so I only visit the department for annual checkups but I was impressed by the wealth of support options available for people in my position and by the amount of time and effort the staff put into me as a patient. Fortunately, I don't really need to make use of these extra services (e.g. counselling) because I've been living a normal life for about 10 years now but it's impressive that this stuff is still on offer to me so long after my transplant. I've dealt with a lot of hospital departments in my time and this is one of the most helpful, effective and efficient of the lot! Thanks to all the haemotology staff. :)

Thanks you for your positive comments about the increase in care and support both physically and psychologically available for haematology patients over the last decade. We will continue to seek to improve the care of our patients.
