"change the website"

About: Trafford General Hospital

Can you please change the website to say that Trafford general isn't an A&E dept. anymore after you know you closed it down. Having it as a Major incident unit doesn'y do jack at night when its closed. Now its an extra 20 mins to get to to a A&E dept. just what you want when you have a child in pain.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to learn that the information you have read on the website is not accurate. We can confirm that the CMFT website for Trafford (www.cmft.nhs.uk) now states that Trafford General Hospital A & E is now an Urgent Care Centre, providing treatment for adults and children who have a need for care that is not life-threatening. The Urgent Care Centre is open daily from 8.00am – midnight.

The new Urgent Care Centre works much in the same way as the previous A&E department and can be visited for the treatment of a wide range of conditions from minor injuries and illnesses to suspected fractures and wounds. It provides treatment for adults and children who have a need for care that is not life-threatening but where prompt help, care or advice is required. The centre is staffed by a highly skilled team of doctors and nurses. I am sorry you had difficulty finding these details, but hope that you are reassured that the website now contains up to date information. I trust you were able to seek appropriate assistance for your child and hope that they are feeling much better.

It is difficult to respond to all the posts in a full way often because of a lack of detailed information, therefore if you would like to discuss this with us in more detail, please feel free to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk
