"frustrated and let down by lack of communication from CAMHS"

About: Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust / Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services – Community(County)

(as a carer),

My daughter has been visiting CAMHS Thorneywood for over 2 years now for self harm. I feel after all this time she has made no progress and her self harm is actually worse. I realise there is no magic wand anyone can wave to stop it and she has to want to help herself, but I really thought she would have made some progress into sorting her mental state.

As a parent we have only had 2 meetings to discuss family issues and never received any other support or information as to further help we can access as carers. We seem to have been left out the picture totally. I am at a loss as to where we can go from here to support her and indeed ourselves who are at breaking point.

Thank you for taking the time to post your view on Patient Opinion.

I am very sorry to hear that you feel nothing has changed for or your daughter.

I would be grateful if you could contact me so we can discuss further.
