I was referred to this hospital for knee replacement surgery on 25th June 2013. I requested the attention of a particular consultant who had previously operated on my right leg ain 2998 and underwent knee replacement by the same consultant in 2010.I finally saw the consultants registrar in Dec 2013 I was told then to expect surgery within the next 6 weeks I had a pre med on 6th Jan this year and signed consent forms on 27th Jan I saw another consultant at this time as my own was unavoidably detained. At that meeting I was told that the operation should be carried out within the next 2/3 wks I have just had a call saying the Consultant has got a huge back log and unless I accept another consultant who can operate on 28th Feb it is liable to be late March or well into April before the Consultant can operate Obviously I'm not impressed someone some where is making arbitrary decisions not based on clinical need and also telling porky pies which always annoys me intensely. I would like the simple courtesy of a coherent reply please . I am Not impressed. I wonder what Jeremy Hunt's views will be Hospital number AV4936
